More About Cabinspiration

The amount of cabin lovers that have come to find this blog is really astounding and awesome. I’m glad I’m not the only one out there.

I posted about this before, but I started this blog to document and keep track of all of the inspirational pictures of cabins that I come across on Tumblr, StumbleUpon, etc. I am planning on building a cabin some day in the not too distant future (hopefully I can start in the spring of 2013). Keeping this blog regularly updated is keeping the goal at the forefront of my mind.

My family already owns a small cabin on Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. It was originally built as a shared space between my grandparents and their friends as a fishing cabin, but the lake has become a tourist destination over the past two decades, so now we use it as a weekend getaway, while my grandpa continues to fish some mornings before all the boats and jet skis get too out of control.  I don’t have any pictures of the inside of the cabin, but I plan to take pictures of it next summer when we go back down.

This is the outside of our cabin. The extra refrigerator on the porch has been known to attract bears, though I’ve unfortunately never seen one.

This is me rereading the HP series on the dock last summer. If I could live every day this way, it would be perfect.

Well, I hope this personal post wasn’t too intrusive, and I promise to get back to your regularly scheduled cabin pictures after this. My personal posts will be few and far between, and I promise that they will always be relevant to cabins in some way.

If you ever have any questions about any of my posts, or you just want to submit, my ask box is open.
